Hiring home help in Baguiati
Baguiati is a north-eastern residential belt. Hiring here works the way it does across Kolkata: someone in the building knows someone, a number gets passed along, and a stranger starts work on Monday with nothing checked and nothing written down.
Whether you find someone through the building, a broker or here, the same three things decide whether it lasts: can they reach Baguiati at the same time every day, do you actually agree on the work, and is any of it written down. In Kolkata the everyday phrase is kajer lok, Bengali for "the person who does the work": in English, a house help or maid. Sevetu handles the third, and shows you an ID-verified profile before the first conversation.
What hiring in Baguiati is actually like
Baguiati is a north-eastern residential belt, and that shapes who you can realistically hire. Helpers here work a tight radius rather than crossing Kolkata. Most of the people who will apply already work Kestopur, New Town or the streets between them.
So the useful thing to put in your post is not "Kolkata" but "Baguiati". You will get fewer applicants and far more who can reach you at the same time every morning, which is what decides whether the arrangement lasts past a month.
Either way, name the part of Baguiati you are in. Baguiati borders Kestopur, New Town and Dum Dum, and a helper's willingness to take the job usually comes down to which side of it you are on.

The practical part
Verification
Sevetu runs an Aadhaar-based identity (KYC) check. It is not a police check, and we will never call it one. Kolkata Police runs the Domestic Help profile form, through the Bondhu citizen portal and app if you want one. How to arrange it in Kolkata →
What it costs
No commission, from either side. We publish no salary table for Baguiati: pay for domestic work settles street by street, and a number we invented would only mislead you.
Coverage
Sevetu is newest in Kolkata. Posting is free and takes two minutes, and verified helpers in your area apply to it. If nobody suitable applies you have lost nothing but the two minutes.
Frequently asked questions
Post the job with Baguiati as your locality rather than just "Kolkata", and add the part of it you are in. Helpers here work a tight radius. Most of the people who will apply already work Kestopur, New Town or the streets between. Fewer applicants, far more who can actually reach you.
Baguiati borders Kestopur, New Town, Dum Dum, Rajarhat. Helpers commonly work across two or three adjacent areas, so saying in your post that you are flexible about which side someone comes from will widen the response more than raising the pay does.
Baguiati is a north-eastern residential belt. That decides the practical things: who is nearby, how they get to you, and whether the going rate is set by a society chart or by what the street pays.
Create a free profile in the Sevetu app, set Baguiati as your area, and apply to the jobs families nearby post. There is no fee, no agent and no commission: you agree the pay with the family directly and keep all of it.
