How much does a driver cost?
Driver pay depends on hours, whether outstation travel is involved, and the city. Rates below are for a household driver on a monthly arrangement, not hourly on-demand driving.
Part-time / school runs

What to check before you hire a driver
Verify the licence yourself
Ask to see the physical licence and check the category and expiry. The ID check confirms who someone is, not what they are licensed to drive.
Agree overtime before you need it
Late nights and weekend travel will happen. Fix the rate now rather than negotiating at 11pm.
Be explicit about outstation trips
Whether they are included, how food and stay are covered, and what the daily allowance is.
Meet before you commit
A profile and a chat get you most of the way, but meet in person before the start date. Trust your own read of the person as well as the badge.
Understand what Verified means
The Verified badge comes from a government-ID (KYC) check. It confirms identity — it is not a police or criminal background check. Do your own diligence too.
Write the duties down
Most arrangements go wrong over duties nobody agreed. List exactly what is included before the first day and record it in the work agreement.
