What Karnataka has notified as the minimum wage
Domestic work is a scheduled employment in Karnataka, which means the state publishes a minimum wage for it. Most hiring in this market happens without anyone mentioning that, so it is worth knowing before you agree a salary.
Under Notification No. KAE 68 LWA 2022, at Sl. No. 27 — “Employment in Residential Houses including Domestic Helpers, Child Care Assistants, Home Nurses and Allied Domestic Works” — the rates notified for Zone 1, the notified areas of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, for 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027, inclusive of variable dearness allowance, are:
