Sevetu — Terms and Conditions

1. Who We Are

Sevetu is operated by Fiel Private Limited ("Sevetu," "we," "us," "our"), a company incorporated in India under the Companies Act, 2013 (CIN: U63120BR2026PTC085183). You can reach us at [email protected].

2. Definitions

• Platform — the Sevetu website (sevetu.com) and the Sevetu mobile app.
• User (also "you") — anyone who registers on or uses the Platform.
• Consumer — a User who posts a Job seeking home services.
• Service Provider — a User who registers to offer home services and may apply to Jobs.
• Job — a service request posted by a Consumer on the Platform.
• KYC — the identity documents and information a Service Provider submits to Sevetu.
• Verified Badge — the label defined in Section 7.
• User Content — any content Users submit, as described in Section 9.

3. Acceptance and Eligibility

By registering on or using the Platform, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, are competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. If you use the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

4. What Sevetu Does — and Does Not Do — in Phase 0

In Phase 0, Sevetu only:

• lets Consumers and Service Providers register and create profiles;
• collects and reviews Service Provider KYC and, on that basis, displays a Verified or Not Verified status (Section 7);
• lets Consumers post Jobs and lets Service Providers apply to them;
• enables the two parties to communicate through the Platform once a Consumer accepts an application; and
• hosts ratings and reviews submitted by Users (Section 9).

In Phase 0, Sevetu does NOT, and is under no obligation to:

• provide, perform, supervise, direct, or control any home service;
• process, collect, hold, or handle any payment between a Consumer and a Service Provider;
• guarantee that any Job will receive applications, that any application will be accepted, or that any service will actually be performed;
• employ, engage, or act as agent for any Service Provider; or
• act as a party to any arrangement, contract, or transaction between a Consumer and a Service Provider.

Sevetu's sole role in Phase 0 is that of an intermediary that hosts and transmits third-party content and connects Users. Any service, price, schedule, payment, or other arrangement is agreed and carried out strictly between the Consumer and the Service Provider, at their own risk and responsibility, off the Platform. Sevetu is not a party to it and bears no liability for it.

5. Account Registration and Security

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and keep it updated. You are responsible for all activity under your account, for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for notifying us promptly at [email protected] of any unauthorised use. Sevetu is not liable for loss arising from your failure to safeguard your account. One person may hold only one account unless we agree otherwise in writing.

6. Fees

The Platform is provided free of charge to Users in Phase 0. Sevetu does not charge Users any fee and does not process payments in this phase. Sevetu may introduce fees or paid features in a future phase, in which case it will give notice and obtain your acceptance before any charge applies.

7. The Verified Badge — What It Means and What It Does Not

A Verified Badge means only that the Service Provider has submitted identity documents (KYC) which Sevetu has reviewed on a reasonable-efforts basis, and that Consumer reviews may be associated with that profile. That is the entire meaning of the badge.

The Verified Badge is not, and must not be relied upon as:

• a background, criminal-record, or police-verification check;
• a guarantee or warranty of a Service Provider's identity, character, honesty, skill, qualifications, conduct, or safety; or
• an endorsement or recommendation by Sevetu.

Sevetu does not independently guarantee the authenticity of documents submitted and does not warrant that a Verified status is error-free or current. A Not Verified status simply means KYC has not been completed or reviewed, and carries no implication about the Service Provider one way or the other. Consumers must still exercise their own judgment (Section 8).

8. User Obligations

Consumers are solely responsible for exercising their own judgment before engaging any Service Provider, for their own safety and property, for the terms they agree with a Service Provider, and for verifying anything material to them independently. The Verified Badge does not replace this responsibility.

Service Providers are independent persons, not Sevetu's employees or agents. Each Service Provider is solely responsible for the truth and authenticity of their KYC and profile; for holding any licence, registration, insurance, or right to work required by law; for the quality, safety, and legality of any service they perform; and for their own taxes and statutory dues. Impersonation or submitting forged, borrowed, or false documents is prohibited and is grounds for immediate removal and, where appropriate, referral to authorities.

9. Jobs, Applications, Communication, and User Content

Consumers may post Jobs; Service Providers may apply. A Consumer is free to accept or reject any application for any reason. Acceptance enables communication between the two Users but does not create any obligation on Sevetu and does not make Sevetu a party to their dealings. Sevetu does not guarantee responses, acceptances, or that any service will follow.

Users may submit profiles, Job details, messages, ratings, and reviews ("User Content"). You are solely responsible for your own User Content and must ensure it is accurate, lawful, and not defamatory, obscene, infringing, or misleading. You grant Sevetu a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, and distribute your User Content on and in connection with the Platform.

Sevetu does not author, endorse, or verify User Content (including reviews) and is not responsible for it. Sevetu may, but is not obliged to, moderate, edit, or remove User Content — including on receipt of a valid complaint — under Section 11. Sevetu may store and, where necessary for safety, security, or legal compliance, review Platform communications; these tools are not a private channel independent of Sevetu.

10. Intermediary Status

Sevetu is an "intermediary" under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. Sevetu hosts third-party information provided by Users and does not initiate, select the receiver of, or modify that information, except as needed to operate the Platform. Sevetu is entitled to the safe-harbour protection available to intermediaries and is not liable for User Content or for dealings between Users.

11. Prohibited Conduct and Takedown

You must not post or transmit anything unlawful, false, defamatory, obscene, infringing, or harmful; impersonate any person; submit forged documents; attempt to bypass, scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Platform; use the Platform to solicit Users for fraudulent or unlawful purposes; or use it in violation of any applicable law. Report violating content to our Grievance Officer (Section 21); Sevetu will act on valid complaints as required by law.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform — including the Sevetu name, logo, text, and software — belongs to Sevetu or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission. Your limited licence to use the Platform ends when your account ends.

13. Disclaimers and No Warranty

The Platform and all information on it are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sevetu does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any User, Job, application, Verified status, or review is accurate, genuine, or reliable. Any reliance you place on the Platform or on another User is at your own risk.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

(a) Sevetu is not liable for any act, omission, conduct, service, non-performance, injury, loss, or damage caused by any Consumer or Service Provider, or arising from any dealing between them, whether on or off the Platform.

(b) Sevetu is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data, or goodwill.

(c) Where any liability of Sevetu cannot be excluded under applicable law, that liability is limited, in aggregate, to INR 5,000 (Rupees Five Thousand).

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by Sevetu's own negligence, or for Sevetu's own fraud), or any Consumer's non-excludable rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

15. Privacy and Data Protection

This Section is Sevetu's privacy notice and forms part of these Terms. Sevetu processes personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Data we collect. From Consumers: name, email, phone number, city, and Job details. From Service Providers: name, contact details, KYC/identity documents, and profile information. From all Users automatically: device and log information, usage data, and — only with your permission — approximate location.

Why we use it (purposes). To register and manage your account; to match Consumers and Service Providers; to review KYC and display a Verified/Not Verified status; to enable communication; to operate, secure, and improve the Platform; to respond to complaints; and to comply with law. We rely on your consent and on the legitimate uses permitted by the DPDP Act.

Consent. By submitting your data, you consent to the processing described here. A Service Provider who submits KYC consents to its collection, review, and the display of a Verified/Not Verified status derived from it. You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to [email protected]; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out and may mean you can no longer use parts of the Platform.

Sharing. We share personal data only: with the other User to the extent needed to connect you (for example, a Consumer and a Service Provider who have agreed to communicate); with service providers who host or support the Platform, under confidentiality obligations; and with authorities where required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell or rent your personal data.

Retention. We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

Security. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights. Subject to the DPDP Act, you may access and correct your data, request its erasure, withdraw consent, nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity, and raise a grievance. To exercise any right, contact our Grievance Officer (Section 21). If unsatisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

Children. The Platform is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sevetu, its directors, officers, and employees against any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your use of the Platform, your User Content, your dealings with another User, or your breach of these Terms or of any law.

17. Suspension and Termination

Sevetu may suspend, restrict, or remove any User, profile, Job, application, Verified status, or User Content at any time, with or without notice, including for suspected false information, forged documents, misuse, or breach of these Terms, and without liability to you. You may stop using the Platform and request account deletion at any time by writing to [email protected]. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 22, and 24 — continue to apply.

18. Third-Party Links and App Stores

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services, and the Sevetu app may be distributed through platforms such as the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. These have their own terms, which apply to your use and which Sevetu does not control or endorse.

19. Force Majeure

Sevetu is not liable for any failure or delay in operating the Platform caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including outages, network or hosting failures, cyber-attacks, acts of government, or natural events.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Sevetu moves through future phases. Updates carry a new "Last Updated" date; material changes and any new features (such as payments) require your fresh acceptance before use. We will give notice of material changes by posting on the Platform or by email or in-app notice.

21. Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the DPDP Act, 2023, and applicable rules, complaints about the Platform, User Content, or your personal data may be sent to our Grievance Officer:

We aim to acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours and to resolve it within 15 days, or within any shorter period required by law.

22. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any non-excludable right a Consumer has under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the competent courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

23. Notices

Sevetu may send you notices by email, by in-app message, or by posting on the Platform, and such notice is treated as received when sent or posted. You may send notices to Sevetu at [email protected].

24. General

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Sevetu for this phase and supersede any prior understanding. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in force. Sevetu's delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights under these Terms; Sevetu may assign or transfer its rights and obligations.
